1. How long have you been teaching at Riverside Prep? This is my third year at Riverside Prep. I previously had taught for a few weeks in China and also was a substitute teacher at Riverside Prep and with the Victor Elementary School District before I was offered this job.
2. Why did you get into teaching? I always wanted to be a teacher. My mom, Teresa Letner, started teaching when I was little and that's just what I always wanted to be. She tried to convince me otherwise, but here I am. She teaches sixth grade at Brentwood Elementary and I get some of her students, which is neat.
3. What do you like most about teaching at Riverside Prep? The kids. Even the worst ones are angels and they're just all really good and fun to teach.
4. Favorite moment in teaching? I really like teaching English to seventh and eighth grade students because they're old enough to understand the subjects we discuss in class, but still young enough to have never really encountered them before. I just try to take their everyday lives and the best literary works on earth and connect them, and I love seeing how they react to the characters and the stories.

5. What does it mean to be selected as the Middle School Teacher of the Month? I was actually Teacher of the Year for seventh grade last year, so this is kind of my thing. But seriously, it's really a nice honor and it's just great to get this kind of feedback to know that I'm doing something right.
