Distance Learning Program

Distance Learning While schools are closed, please know that the Oro Grande School District is fully committed to the well-being of our students and families. Our team has developed a Distance Learning Program with educational activities for students to engage in during this time that can be accomplished with or without technology. As educators we will focus on our students, taking care of the child, not the student, and facilitating at home learning for them – whatever that may look like. Activities have been created that students can engage in from home and across grade levels to help minimize stress for all involved. Each week, families will receive a call from their assigned teacher to check-in and discuss the learning activities of the week.

Our teachers have many tools to communicate with our students and families, and will work with each family to determine the right form of communication for them. If you do not have internet access, you can pick up printed materials at one of our Grab-And-Go meal sites on Wednesday, April 1 (click here for Grab-And-Go meal site information). We will begin mailing home printed materials beginning next week (Monday, April 6) for anyone reporting they do not have internet use. Teachers will collect this information the week of March 30-April 3. During this time of distance learning, grading of student work will focus on feedback and progress. We want our students and teachers to discuss the learning experiences. Teachers will provide students with feedback on their work to further their academic growth. Any assignments that were given since January will be accepted and given the appropriate credit towards the student’s grade. If you have any questions, please contact your student's teacher.
