1. How long have you been teaching at Riverside Prep? I have been teaching for two years. I came to Riverside Prep from Pennsylvania because they offered me a great opportunity to be a full-time teacher. Plus, I was looking forward to a new adventure in moving across the country.
2. What got you into teaching? I got into teaching because my greatest role models and people I looked up to were either teachers or coaches, one of those people being my mom.
3. What do you like most about working at Riverside Prep? The thing I like most about Riverside Prep is the people that I work with, along with the students that keep every day interesting.
4. What do you like about teaching middle school students? The best part about teaching middle school students is that they have so much energy focused in figuring out what their purpose is and it is contagious.  What's the biggest challenge? The biggest challenge as a math teacher is selling the content as being important to a 12- or 13-year-old student.
5. Favorite moment in teaching? My favorite moments in teaching are when I am able to get to know about the students I work with every day, when we are able to connect past the content that I am teaching.

6. What does it mean to be selected as the Middle School Teacher of the Month? It means a lot to be named Teacher of the Month. However, I also want to recognize all of my colleagues who also put in countless hours of lesson planning, teaching, tracking data, grading and doing what is best for the students here at Riverside Prep.
